Pachypodium Lamerei 'Madagascar Palm'
Stunning architectural form that lends itself to desert/xeriscape themed gardens and as a feature specimen.
Loves the heat and works well in a sunny location including micro-climates such as where added radiant heat from a wall might render many plants unsuitable.
In the sub-arid regions of Madagascar (where they are endemic) temperatures can be as high as 40 degrees C, but there is anecdotal evidence they can handle much higher temperatures than this.
And no two grow to maturity looking exactly the same which works really well when they are grouped as feature plants in a garden.
